Broad services abroad
Depending on your locale and condition, a medical airlift evacuation alone could cost upwards of $100,000. That's just to get you to an appropriately-screened medical facility. While your health insurer may provide customary and reasonable hospital costs abroad, few, if any, will pay for your medical evacuation back to the United States or to an appropriate medical facility abroad. And they won't pay for translation services or consultations with a physician in America.
